National Memorial Day Parade

On Memorial Day, we rode the metro down to Federal Triangle to watch the National Memorial Day Parade. It was an amazing tribute to our military and fallen heroes from the American Revolution through Afghanistan and Iraq. The parade was televised live to troops stationed around the globe. We cheered on soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast guardsmen. These men and women are our country's heroes, including my own husband. They are a symbol of the sacrifices that have been made and that continue to be made to ensure our freedoms in this great country. There were a number of beautiful floats, high school marching bands, and our "founding fathers" also participated in the parade. The whole experience was very touching. We will most definitely be back next year.
