Cherry Blossom Waterfront Festival

Today was a gorgeous day down at the Wharf. This may have been our favorite family day since we've moved to DC. When we got to the event, parking was cheap and easy, so I knew that today was going to be a good day. First, we visited the very cherry marketplace and got our boys the cutest T's, made by a mother of four boys, and owner of "Wee the People," Erin Luckau. There was also plenty to do for the little ones. They enjoyed face painting, balloon animals, racing model boats, making Japanese fighting fish, dancing to live kiddie music, crafting puppet dragons, designing t-shirts with the DC patrol, stamping Japanese boat flags, and eating delicious food. Paul and I were happy to see our little ones enjoying themselves, and the food trucks weren't bad either! Even though there were a ton of people, everyone was courteous and in no rush. We got to the event as it opened and would have stayed for the fireworks, but we wore out the babies. We will definitely be coming back next year. Add this festival to the long list of reasons why we are in love with DC.

Lizzie Kang was one of the volunteers at the Japanese fighting fish tent. She included Joey in all parts of the building process. Lizzie was so patient and kind. Just the sweetest!

Never thought I'd see Paul use a hot glue gun. Dream come true!

It was neat seeing all of the different dragons come to life. Karen made this masterpiece.

Even the boat houses were festive.

Brave passengers on the dragon boat.

Hard to resist these Curbside Cupcakes.

Ashley Brown was also a part of the 4 Ever Young Music Group. She has a great voice.

D-lish!

It's becoming very difficult to take photos of these two. They're always on the move.
