Another angel gets her wings

In the midst of what has seemed like complete chaos, we lost a dear friend this week. There is nothing that will bring you back to reality more quickly than when someone passes from this life to the next. I would be remiss not to say that being in the presence of Lila Kimball was like being in the presence of an angel. From the first moment I saw her, I knew she was especially unique. I was hugely pregnant with my first son Joseph, when I saw Lila in her father's arms. I remember hoping that my little baby would be born as beautiful as she. Lila had the most angelic smile, gorgeous long lashes, and stunning little features. Joey and Lila were born just two months apart. When they were both babies, and Joey was first starting to talk, he would call out to her, "baby!" It was especially cute because Lila was born first.  I consider the times I've watched Lila's mommy care for her, as some of my greatest blessings. Kristi seized every moment with her beautiful daughter. She treated Lila like a princess; giving her the cutest hairdos, dressing her in the most adorable outfits, adorning her with delicate jewelry, and most importantly, making her as comfortable as possible. Quinn and Kristi saw their daughters rare syndrome not as a burden, but as an opportunity to bless the lives of others. I am in awe of their vigilance and determination to make Lila's life as fulfilling as possible. I am a better person for having known Lila Patricia Kimball.
